Three Dimensional Study of |
These images show a computer generated 3D model that reconstructs the internal geometry of the church of the Redeemer. They were created in the late 1980s, when solid modelling software was still very primitive - the model had to be built up from simple geometric shapes: spheres, cylinders, and cubes. An accurate representation could still be created, a further indication of the geometric purity of this church.
Dimensions were derived from the plan and sectional drawing of the church by Toros T'oramanian, reproduced in Strzygowski's "Die Baukunst der Armenier und Europa". |
