Physical characteristics
He has a youthful face, without a beard, and has short and carefully styled hair. There is a halo around his head, the rim of which is decorated with circles. His left arm supports a book (probably his Gospel) decorated with a cross. The index finger of his right hand is pointing towards the book.

He is dressed in a toga, and has bare feet.

Identification
Saint John the Evangelist.

There is a full-length depiction of a male figure placed under each of the the gables of the four arms of the church. They depict the four Evangelists: Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.
