East Facade
Zone C - Figure 8

Part of the vine-scroll relief. A human figure crouches on his right knee, surrounded by a grapevine. The carving is badly worn and few details survive. Both hands are raised to above shoulder height. Davis states that "his hands and forearms are in the orans position" (i.e., his hands are raised in prayer). This is probably wrong: the figure actually appears to be holding something in his right hand (perhaps a tool involved in the grape harvest) and his left hand is supporting what may be a basket resting on his left shoulder.
