East Facade
Zone C - Figure 6

Part of the vine-scroll relief. Framed by the same grapevine that encircles figure C5 is a male figure, probably a nobleman attendant of the crowned man. He faces left, towards the crowned man. In his raised right hand he appears to holds a circular object, probably a pomegranate fruit. His left hand rests on his belt. He is wearing long trousers and a caftan-type tunic with wide cuffs, lapels, and collar. A thick belt with hanging pendants secures the tunic.
His fingers, as noted by Davis, are arranged in the eastern manner of a blessing. Davis sees this as evidence of the figure being involved in an Eucharistic ritual. However, the hand gesture may be coincidental.
